We woke up and caught the last few minutes of the exciting Super Bowl, only the second time it has gone into overtime. No video, but we followed it play-by-play on the Internet.
High temperature today was 26° C again. After a light morning drizzle, we performed bike maintenance while it was still cool. We had the rare luxury of a hose with running water so the drivetrain was scrubbed free of sand and grime, and a fresh coat of lubricant was applied. I re-taped my handlebars.
With a group of this size, there are varied interest and needs. We ensconced ourselves into the neighborhood and supported the locals. We collectively bought drinks and snacks, got haircuts, had sandals repaired, tent fabric was sewn, laundry was sent out.
No alteration is too complicated.
Some went on birding tours, lizard tours, chimpanzee tours, took in a fish market, or visited a botanical garden. Through nonprofit organizations, two of our riders had ties to educational endeavors in this area. Ulli had supported a school, and hired a driver to go to Kampala to visit the school in person. Margot had been involved in supporting a student through his high school and college years. He is set to graduate from university later this year. She was also able to visit with him one on one.

I would like to believe the first item for sale is “meat for dogs”, which would make more sense given the context.
Street vendor making an Ugandan specialty, the Rolex. Start with an 2-egg omelette containing finally chopped vegetables: cabbage, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and carrots.
Fully cooked, with the omelette on top of the chapati.
