Overall, a pretty smooth flight all the way to Cairo. Main complication was due to a relatively short connection time in Frankfurt, which resulted in our bike boxes not being loaded onto the connecting flight to Cairo. We thus had to wait an extra four hours at Cairo‘s baggage claim to retrieve our bikes, which came in on the next flight from Frankfurt. Our driver to the hotel was kind enough to wait with us. He got a big tip.
